About 2,90,348 students have applied online to take part in the admission test for the first year undergraduate (honours) of Dhaka University for the academic year 2021-22. The application fee was $1,000. This time, the number of seats in Dhaka University is 6,035. That is, 48 people are contesting for each seat. The entrance exam will begin on June 3.

From April 20, the application for the admission test and fee of the candidates started to be submitted through the website of Dhaka University. In all the five units, the eligibility criteria for applying this time were somewhat relaxed. There was an opportunity to apply for the admission test till 11:59 pm on Tuesday.

This time too, the admission test of Dhaka University will be held in five units (a, b, c, d and f) in the centers of the divisional cities of the country. This year’s admission test will begin on June 3 through the ‘C’ unit of the Faculty of Business Education. This will be followed by the ‘B’ unit of the Faculty of Arts on June 4, the ‘A’ Unit of the Faculty of Science on June 10, the ‘D’ Unit of the Faculty of Social Sciences on June 11 and the ‘F’ Unit of the Faculty of Fine Arts on June 17. The exams for units A, B, C and D will be held from 11 pm to 12.30 pm (one and a half hours). However, the general knowledge test of fine arts will be from 11 pm to 11.30 pm (30 minutes).

A review of the data of the students whose application fees have been submitted till May 12, it has been found that the highest number of applications have been received in unit A and the lowest in the F unit. In terms of the number of contestants per seat, the maximum competition will be in unit A and the least in units B and C. Against 1,851 seats in unit A, 1,15,712 (62 candidates per seat), 58,554 against 1,788 seats in unit B (33 candidates per seat), 30,695 against 930 seats in unit C (33 candidates per seat), 78,031 students against 1,336 seats in unit D (58 per seat) and 7,356 students against 130 seats in unit C (56 per seat) have applied against 130 seats in unit C.

There will be a total of 100 marks in the A, B, C and D units of Dhaka University. This will include the multiple choice of 60 marks and the written part of 40 marks. There will be a total of 90 minutes of 45 minutes to answer the two parts. There will be a multiple choice test of 40 marks in the general knowledge section of the f unit. There will be 30 minutes to answer. On the basis of the results of this test, 1,500 people will get a chance to participate in the drawing test of 60 marks according to the merit order. There will be 45 minutes for this test. The merit list will be prepared by adding a total of 20 marks on the GPA of SSC and HSC along with the marks obtained in all the five units.
